Inspire & Empower the youth to lead a healthy and active lifestyle! Through educational components for nutrition and activity the Youth In Motion will set out to teach kids about the importance of leading an active life. Plus – it’s FUN!
Not only will these programs affect the youth’s physical health, it will directly impact their emotional and mental health. Exercise increases brain activity, as kids learn the importance of keeping active, they will also see an improvement in their overall mental and emotional health.
This program will develop the youth’s leadership skills and build confidence. They learn to cooperate with their peers, be held accountable and hold their friends accountable.
Youth in Motion in partnership with CrossFit Kids enrolled fourteen fifth grade students in a ten week fitness and nutrition program. The fitness portion of the program was conducted by CrossFit Kids. CrossFit Kids is the principal strength and conditioning program for many young athletes and the primary PE program for many home and charter schools. CrossFit Kids delivers a fitness that is by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Healthy living requires that our kids push, pull, run, throw, climb, lift, jump, effectively and safely regardless of whether or not they play athletics. The CrossFit Kids program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any individual regardless of experience.
